Saturday, April 28, 1:30 – 3:30.  Toward the Within, a 2 Hour Guided Yoga Workshop
Have you ever reached the end of a yoga class and wished that it could have been longer? This offering is for those who desire a full, guided practice with time for all the elements that make up a yoga practice, and more.

The practice begins with the body supported in a restorative yoga pose. Once the body is still, one can connect more deeply with the mind. Essential oils, pranayama, and guided meditation will be offered as a doorway into your true state of being– one of deep connection, calm and peace.
There will be time to address tension in neck and shoulders as you ease into body movements that are accessible to most anyone. Modifications are always provided for more challenging poses as the practice progresses. Once the body is mindfully warmed, we can address muscles that are often in need of long, deep stretches, such as hips and hamstrings. This offering will allow time for a real savasana, what B.K.S. Iyengar described as “illuminated emancipation, freedom, unalloyed and untainted bliss”.
This gift of time brings the body into a state of pratyahara, or a withdrawal of the senses, so that when you emerge you are ready for meditation.
Calming the fluctuations of the mind is the true purpose of yoga–and meditation after asana is the best time to achieve this state of mind. Yoga and meditation can also bring about deep clarity and an awakening of our creativity. There will be time for reflection and journaling throughout the practice, so be sure to bring your favorite pen and a special journal.
*This workshop is open to all however, a basic knowledge of asana is expected, as well as a desire to delve deeper into pranayama and meditation.
**Please be advised that essential oils will be used in this workshop.
***Don’t forget your journal, a pen, and perhaps something special for savasana like a favorite eye pillow or blanket.

Sunday, February 11, 5:30 – 7:30pm, Partner Yoga for Friends or Lovers Play. Laughter. Joyful movement. Deep connection. Spontaneity. Shared experience. Communication. Trust.
These are just a few words that have been used to describe the partner yoga experience.
Give. You will learn how to support your partner in various poses. Receive. You will lean how to completely let go and to trust.
As you learn to support others, you end up allowing yourself to be supported. This is a fundamental of trust: take control by letting go.
This is not an acro workshop, though the elements of AcroYoga will be explored. “AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness, and community.” (an excerpt from AcroYoga.org)
All levels of practice are welcome. The aim of the workshop is to make it accessible no matter one’s body type, age, flexibility or strength. Modifications can always be made to accommodate Every Body!
